You know how many of these trucks you see in France? Zero.
Part of it is because the French government doesn’t give SUVs a sweetheart deal because they’re “trucks.” Part of it is because in a lot of towns you couldn’t even get this thing down the street. You don’t see F-350s in bastide towns.
What you do see, everywhere, are Renault and Citroen vans half the size and weight of this beast.
And yes, they’re always white.
These little vans get used for everything from hauling firewood to hauling sheep to hauling the wild boar that you shot while out with your chausseur buddies.
Now, usually most farmers will have a small trailer for hauling big stuff, and of course a tractor for everyday farm jobs. But still they manage to get by just fine with little white vans instead of big, over-blown monster trucks.
Now, at some point we’ll talk about how every car that blasts past you on the motorway at 130 kmh is a German brand…..
